Question:

A photograph of a bacteria enlarged 50,000 times attains a length of 5cm. What is the actual length of the bacteria?

Solution:

We have, Actual length of bacteria × enlargement constant = length in diagram
So, actual length = 5/50000 cm = 1/10000 cm
Now, the enlargement constant changes to 20000.
Then, enlarged length of bacteria = 20000 × 1/10000 = 2
So, enlarged length of bacteria is 2cm
