Parthenocarpy
It is shown by some invertebrates and lower plants. It is mainly shown by a plant.
It involves the development of female gamete without fertilization. It is the development of fruit prior to fertilization.
It leads to the production of a complete individual which are clone to female parents. It leads to the production of seedless fruit.
It can be physically induced by UV, pH or electric shock or chemically with chloroform or alcohol. It can be induced by plant growth regulators like auxin and Gibberellins.
Examples include scorpions, nematodes etc. Examples of parthenocarpy are pineapple, banana, grapes etc.
