(i) An aerosol is a colloid in which the dispersed phase is a solid and the dispersion medium is a gas, e.g., dust, smoke. (ii) Emulsion is a colloid solution in which both the dispersed phase and dispersion medium are in a liquid state, e.g., milk and cod liver oil. (iii) They are associated colloids showing colloidal behavior at high concentration and strong electrolytes at low concentration, e.g., soap.
