Give reasons for the following: (a) The human testes are located outside the abdominal cavity. (b) Some organisms like honeybees are called parthenogenetic animals.

(a) Human testes lie outside the human body because it helps in spermatogenesis as the process of sperm formation requires a temperature (2 - 2.50C) lower than the body temperature. (b) Parthenogenesis is the reproduction from an ovum without fertilization. In honeybees, ovum grows and matures into an individual without fertilization and hence is parthenogenetic.
