How many tangents can a circle have?

A circle is the locus of points equidistant from a given point, which is the center of the circle. A tangent is a line that intersects a circle at only one point. As a circle has infinitely many points, there will be infinitely many tangents that can be drawn, each touching the circle at only one point.
