Question:

What happens when SO2 gas is passed through an aqueous solution of Fe+3 salt?

Solution:

(i) When SO2 gas is passed through an aqueous solution of Fe+3 salt, it reduces ferric ions to ferrous ions. SO2 + 2FeCl3 + 2H2O → H2SO4 + 2HCl + 2FeCl2 (ii) XeF4 reacts with SbF5 to form an adduct [XeF3]+[SbF6]−. XeF4 acts as fluorine donor. XeF4 + SbF5 → [XeF3]+[SbF6]− XeF4 acts as a lewis base and SbF5 acts as lewis acid.
