Where are chromosomes found in a cell?

Chromosomes are found inside the nucleus of animal and plant cells. Each chromosome is made of proteins (histones and non-histones) and a single molecule of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). The function of chromosomes is to carry the genetic material from one generation to another.
