Where do the lipids and proteins constituting the cell membrane get synthesized?

The lipids constituting the membrane are synthesized in smooth endoplasmic reticulum (SER) and are transported to the cell membrane. Membrane proteins are synthesized on cytoplasmic ribosomes from where they are transported to the Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum for further modifications and then transported to the cell membrane.
