Cell wall
Cell envelop is the outer covering of protoplasm of bacterial cell. It consists of three components: glycocalyx, cell wall, and cell membrane. Glycocalyx may occur in the form of a loose sheath or a thick, tough mucilage covering called a capsule. The capsule is responsible for giving a gummy and sticky character to the cell. Thus, Glycocalyx is the correct answer.
