Photosystem-I is located in the non-appressed part of grana thylakoids as well as stroma thylakoids. In this photosystem, chlorophyll carotenoid content is high. Its photocentre is P700. Pigment molecules of PS-I absorb at or below 700nm wavelength of light. It receives electrons from photosystem-II. Photosystem-I is involved in both cyclic and non-cyclic photophosphorylation. It is not connected with photolysis of water. Usually, it hands over its electron to NADP+.
