In tomato, twisted aestivation is found in which the mode of arrangement of petals or sepals in which they overlap each other is called as twisted aestivation. The arrangement of ovules within the ovary is known as placentation. It may be of different types, marginal, axile, parietal, basal, central and free central. In tomato, axile placentation is found, it means the placenta is axial and ovules are attached to it. The tomato is a berry.
