Why does distilled water not conduct electricity, whereas rainwater does?

Distilled water is a pure form of water that does not contain any solute. Therefore, it cannot conduct electricity because it does not contain ions. Rainwater, on the other hand, contains dissolved salts and acids which dissociate into ions and conduct electricity.
