Why is electrostatic potential constant throughout the volume of a conductor and has the same value on its surface?

The reason is that the electric field inside the conductor is zero. So, ΔV = 0 ⇒ V₁ − V₂ = 0 or V₁ = V₂, it means that the potential at every point is the same inside the conductor.
