Aniline reacts with concentrated sulphuric acid to form anilinium hydrogensulphate which on heating with sulphuric acid at 453K produces p-aminobenzene sulphonic acid, commonly known as sulphanilic acid, as the major product. C6H5−NH2 + Conc.H2SO4 → C6H5NH3+HSO4− (Anilinium hydrogen sulphate) ; heat 453K → SO3H−C6H4−NH2 (p-aminobenzene sulphonic acid) Hence the compound A is anilinium hydrogen sulphate and the compound B is p-aminobenzene sulphonic acid.
